If you’re considering an exciting career in the HVAC field, there’s no better time than the present to take action. After all, recent labor reports show that the demand for skilled HVAC specialists is on the rise. Plus, there are a variety of different careers you can pursue based on your level of training and skills. At Pro Temp of Illinois, we’re looking to hire Westchester’s most talented HVAC installers, technicians and mechanics.
1. HVAC Installer
HVAC installers are skilled technicians who handle the complex task of installation or replacement for HVAC systems. As an HVAC Installer, you may work in residential or commercial settings, depending on your company’s clientele. You’ll have to have a strong working knowledge of systems by a variety of leading brands like Lennox and Carrier. Excelling in these careers require intense precision, focus, and technical knowledge.
2. Service Technician
Service technicians play an instrumental role at every heating and cooling company. As a service technician, you’ll spend your days out in the field helping homeowners and businesses with all of their HVAC-related needs. This includes diagnosing issues, making repairs, performing routine maintenance, and more. Some technicians specialize in a certain area, like air conditioning, whereas others are generalists who work with heating, cooling, and ductwork. You’ll need to have a knack for solving problems and to feel comfortable using tools like pipe cutters, wrenches, and acetylene torches.
3. HVAC Mechanic
HVAC mechanics cover a wide range of responsibilities including installation, inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and beyond. They work in any number of environments like private residences, office buildings, hospitals, or apartment complexes. Typically, HVAC mechanics have a two-year associates degree in addition to on-the-job training and professional licensure.
